It has been many years since I was just a young pup cheering on the “Dude” Danny Lasoski from the grandstands at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. I grew up on this stuff. My dresser in my room was covered with die cast cars of all my favorite Outlaws. Don’t you for one second think that I kept them in their package for value, I got my value from racing them in imaginary races on the kitchen table. The sun was shining and the track was in top form June 5th for the Friday night races at Granite City Speedway. I pulled out my cameras and prepared myself for some great action. The drivers were primed and the fans pumped as the hot-laps began to warm up the track. Read more
It has been a long winter. I have been sitting around in my long johns waiting for the race season to begin, and finally it has arrived. Granite City Speedway was alive again! This is my first year as the official track photographer, which means I actually have responsibility. I will do everything possible to bring you all great photos week after week.
For the last couple weekends the rain has rained supreme (mind my pun), but tonight the racing gods shined down upon Granite City Speedway. With weather threatening the track yet again, instead of rain we were blessed with a beautiful night at the track.
As I left my driveway in St. Cloud and headed towards the Isanti County Fairgrounds in Cambridge, MN, I knew that I would finally get to photograph a sport I had been dreaming about shooting for a long time. Read more
